Meet Tumbles, a small, sweet shelter puppy who was born with only two hind legs. At first, animal rescue staff members didn’t think he’d make it, but lately Tumbles has been making great strides–literally.
That’s because a friend of his new adoptive owners at the Friends of the Shelter Dogs in Athens, Ohio had the genius idea to see if a small set of wheels might be the key to helping Tumbles walk on his own. A design was submitted to the Ohio University Innovation Center, where lab workers crafted the tiny wheels and then stopped by the shelter so that Tumbles could give them a spin.
His first few wobbly steps are simply incredible to watch–check it out below.https://www.facebook.com/HuffPostGoodNews/posts/929551297131055
P.S. Though the puppy “wheelchair” turned out to be a big too big for Tumbles, another smaller set is in the works. We wish him the best.
