This German Shepherd Has A Bizarre Trait About It That Will Make All Dog Lovers Swoon

All dogs are different in their own unique way, but this German shepherd takes the cake with being a rare sight to see! Meet Quasimodo, a stray dog that suffers from short spine syndrome and was recently discovered living in Kentucky.

Named after Victor Hugo’s character in the 1831 book, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the pup is one of 14 dogs ever known to have experienced this condition. Originally vets believed the rescue dog lived his whole life in a kennel, which could have been the reason for his hunchback.

Since then he’s been diagnosed with missing several vertebrae and has now been taken in by Secondhand Hounds, a nonprofit dog shelter in Minnesota. Even though his health issues can’t be fixed through surgery, Quasimodo is still your average dog that likes to have fun and play around.
