Dogs are known to show plenty of love and affection, and it’s always kind of cute and surprising when cats do, too. But an affectionate lion? That’s something we haven’t seen much of–at least not until now.
This is Kiara, a lioness with a beautiful yet intimidating presence. She’s recently been moved to a bigger sanctuary that’s more comfortable for a lion of her size. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t miss her old home, and especially Adolfo, her first adoptive father.
When Adolfo pays Kiara a surprise visit, she pretty much explodes with excitement and joy. Seeing a huge lion embrace a human this way is so heartwarming, and it puts to rest any question of whether lions feel any emotional attachment or fondness toward their humans.
