Artist Carves the Cutest Scenes on Banana Peels and We Wish We Could Frame Them

Stephan Brusche

Banana art is the most a-peel-ing thing on the internet that you didn't even know you were missing out on. We certainly didn't, until we happened upon artist Stephan Brusche's seriously impressive work on Instagram. After we gazed at some of Brusche's drawings on banana peels, we have to say that we might not ever look at the fruit the same way again.

The Netherlands-based artist told Bored Panda that his work with banana art began a few years back when he first started using Instagram. "I was at work and I just wanted to post something," Brusche said. "I then noticed my banana and I figured it would make a nice post if I just drew a little happy face on it. I took a ballpoint pen and just started drawing. I was pretty amazed how pleasant a banana peel is to draw on." And ever since that moment, he's been hooked on the unique artwork, much to the delight of his followers.

Brusche has created a wide variety of banana art, including cartoon characters and popular Hollywood legends such as Marilyn Monroe.

He has also designed banana art for new seasons, holidays, and birthday celebrations for people.

But despite these magnificent and sometimes intricate pieces of artwork, Brusche hasn't forgotten how he got started. He still posts photos of happy (and not-so-happy) bananas with simple facial expressions that delight followers just as much as the more elaborate creations.

It's worth mentioning that bananas aren't the only fruit that Brusche has used as his canvas. He's also created art from kiwis and pears, and sometimes he even dabbles in doodling on other food groups such as vegetables and eggs.

That said, it's clear to anyone who gets a glimpse of Brusche's work that bananas are his specialty. Considering he has thousands of posts under his belt (not to mention thousands of followers), it doesn't seem like he's stopping anytime soon. But don't worry about the actual food going to waste — Brusche says he eats all his bananas after he's done with the art.

Looks like potassium isn't the only thing bananas are good for!
