Secret’s New Essential Oils Deodorant Will Rival Your Finest Perfume
By now, you’re probably somewhat familiar with the benefits essential oil-infused products can have on our skin, from reducing inflammation to adding hydration. However, we’d be willing to bet there’s one area of your body you’ve been neglecting in the pampering department: your armpits! But that’s all about to change, thanks to the launch of Secret with Essential Oils ($11.99 each, Target).
This deodorant is crafted with four unique blends of essential oils, including coconut oil and mandarin (good picks for hydration and detoxification), lavender and eucalyptus (ingredients that calm and soothe), rose and charcoal (also good for moisture and detoxification), and cedarwood and citrus (which protect against bacteria and cleanse).
These concoctions not only make for a blissful scent experience since they’re in their purest, essential oil forms. These deodorants are also formulated directly from the roots, stems, and flowers of their respective plants before being cold pressed through steam distillation — a separation process by which temperature-sensitive ingredients (such as natural aromatic compounds) can be isolated and purified.
“While antiperspirant has typically been viewed as a more functional product, we are challenging that notion with the launch of Secret with Essential Oils,” Associate Brand Director Sara Saunders said in a press release. “This collection creates an experience that feels indulgent but that still gives our consumers the protection and strength against sweat that they need.”

She isn’t kidding about the protection. Despite the fact that this deodorant is paraben and dye-free for those looking to minimize the amount of harsh chemicals found in their deodorant, it definitely doesn’t skimp on B.O. protection — the line boasts a whopping 48 hours of protection for wearers!
Spokeswoman Camila Mendes (of Riverdale fame) is a big fan, raving in a press release, “I love how sophisticated the fragrances are – especially for a deodorant! The scents remind me of a luxury perfume more than a typical antiperspirant.”
Customers are also already loving these formulas, which have a collective 4.5-star rating from more than 600 Target customers combined. “It keeps my underarms sweat free till evening,” one reviewer wrote, with another adding, “The scent is INCREDIBLE. It’s so soothing, and it’s so natural smelling. Not that chemical smell that some other brands produce.”
