Blind since birth because of a genetic defect, four-year-old Luka White of Somerset, England has never let his disability define him. Even at his young age, Luka, as his mom likes to say, just "gets on with life." Now his mom is feeling even luckier about her brave son--because he just saved her life in the most heroic way.
Mom Treana Richards was helping Luka get dressed for school when she collapsed to the floor with searing stomach pains. Though she had taught Luka how to dial for an ambulance, she knew he'd never be able to find her phone in the other room. But Luka jumped into action anyway.
He walked out the front door and knocked on his neighbors' doors until one who lived four houses away answered. "You must come quick," he told the woman, who dialed for help immediately. Turns out Treana was suffering from a complication of endometriosis, and she was rushed to the hospital.
Here's the mom with her hero son back in 2013.
This boy's brave actions have earned him the title of hero--and his mom is mom couldn't be prouder.
"I don't know what I'd do without him," she told ITV.com.
Hats off to you, Luka!
