WW Book Club: The Best New Books June 19 – 25, From Sci-Fi to an NBA Mom’s Memoir

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies . . . The man who never reads lives only one.” That quote is from George R.R. Martin, author of epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, novels that were adapted into the legendary HBO series Game of Thrones. Martin’s point is that books can expand our minds, broaden our perspectives, and give us insight into how other people live without us ever having to leave the house. Get lost in someone else’s head for a change by picking up a book from this week’s list of book club picks.

These Woman’s World recommendations include everything from a sweeping sci-fi epic to a memoir by the mother of two famous NBA players. Take a break from your own life and slip into another. And if none of these strikes your fancy, check out last week’s book club picks!
