Extravagant weddings seem to be the norm these days, and one wife-to-be didn't want hers to be any different. As one of her friends, "Hayley," explained to MamaMia.com.au, this particular bride, "Caroline," has made several demands of her bridesmaids, including rating potential vendors by how prestigious they are and forking over 550 Australian dollars for each bridesmaid dress.

Hayley was initially thrilled to be in the wedding party, but that joy has since dwindled. And it's the latest request that led Hayley to vent her frustration publicly.
Caroline fell in love with a designer wedding gown that cost 10,500 Australian dollars (about $8,000), a cost well above what she could afford. Instead of buying a dress in her price range, she bought the designer one. Then, this happened.
"That night, my inbox pinged again with another of the group emails from Caroline that I'd started to dread. The subject line was 'Bridesmaid dress contribution,' and it made me break out into a cold sweat. The latest bridal update was a long email outlining how she and Jase were hugely over their bridal budget now that she’d splurged on the dress. That it was 'totally fine if you can’t,' but she would really love if we could 'pitch in' around $150 each towards her 'dream dress.'"
That donation, of course, would be on top of paying for the bridesmaid dresses, the bachelorette party, the bridal shower, and a 3-day spa retreat. As a result, Hayley is now considering skipping the wedding--and is reconsidering her friendship with Caroline. Though we're glad Caroline didn't demand that the bridesmaids defray the cost of her pricey wedding dress, we can understand why Hayley is rethinking their relationship.
