Little Boy Thinks Sister’s Wrestling Match Is Real and Runs to Save Her

Tags:

Brothers may argue with their sisters from time to time, but if anyone else dares to mess with their siblings — even for fun — they better watch out. One little boy on an elementary school wrestling team recently learned that lesson the hard way.

A youngster named Ruby was in the middle of her wrestling match with an opponent named Ryan at a meet in Columbus City, Indiana when her fight suddenly got interrupted. Her 2-year-old brother, watching from the stands, apparently mistook her wrestling match for a real fight — and adorably rushed in to save the day.

He yelled, “Get off my sister!”

The brave tot charged right in the middle of the gym and grabbed Ryan, trying to drag him away from the little girl. He stopped only when the referee pulled him away and broke up the unexpected altercation. It’s no surprise that the footage is now going viral.

One spectator could be heard saying, “That is the best thing I’ve ever seen. That was awesome.”

Funnily enough, it was actually Ryan’s mom, Tori “Allen” Prendergast, who shared the hilariously heartwarming footage, taken by her husband.

“I was working and missed the match, but when I got home he showed me the video and I knew we had to share it,” Prendergast said in an interview with HuffPost. “It was so cute. The whole place was cracking up when it happened.”

She added, “I only have boys, but if I had a daughter, I hope they would protect their sister like that.”

It just goes to show that family always comes first, no matter what!
