Arleigh Williams, 9, and Kodi McAlvain, 8, forged an unbreakable bond almost two years ago when they both started their cancer treatments. The pair is so close they're often mistaken for twins. So while they might not share the same DNA, they do share a love for country star Carrie Underwood.
The girls had planned to attend the singer's concert when Williams fell ill and ended up in the hospital.
“I cried because I didn't get to go to the concert. I was very sad," she said.
McAlvain still attended the concert, but she didn't forget her friend. She came armed with a sign that read: "My best friend should be here, but she's kicking cancer's butt in OKC." The photo went viral, eventually reaching Underwood herself.
In response, she invited both girls to meet her when she came to Oklahoma during her tour. Even better, the two got to meet the singer and posed for photos.
"Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! That's what it was like," said Arleigh.
