Not here, kitty, kitty! A tabby cat named Max has been banned from a Minnesota library after repeatedly sneaking in, but it's the library's hilarious sign that's quickly going viral.
Max made a habit of scampering into the library at Macalester College in St. Paul whenever people opened the door. In the true nature of a curious cat, the feline was seen exploring the bookshelves again and again. He even got caught on the library's security camera on occasion.
Both the owner and the librarians tried to keep Max away from the library, but the stubborn kitty refused to listen. Finally, the librarians put up a warning sign to its human visitors to not allow the cat in — and it's quite possibly the cutest "keep out" sign we've ever seen.
The note, accompanied by a funny sketch of a cat's face, read: "Please do not let in the cat. His name is Max. Max is nice. His owner does not want Max in the library. We do not want Max in the library. Max wants to be in the library. Please do not let Max in the library."

It's little wonder that one Twitter user shared a photo of the note with the caption, "This is basically halfway to being a children's book."
It seems like the rest of the internet agreed with her, so a lot of folks out there decided to continue the story — and they got pretty creative with it!
Some social media users created Max-inspired artwork, with original illustrations of the cat oftentimes accompanied by a library card that the real Max sadly could not get.
One Twitter user even made a sing-song poem out of the narrative, writing witty lines that rhymed: "Every time Max went inside, librarians from far and wide would chase him out and whisper “Shoo!” His owner had forbade him too. Poor cat. No human thought that he belonged inside the library."

Though Max's library days have come to an end since he's been "grounded," it looks like he's having a nice time relaxing in his home.
We just hope there are some books nearby!
