Celery Juice Is the Hottest Detox Drink Out There – Could It Be the Secret to Weight Loss?

Tags:

It’s official: Celery juice is the world’s hottest detox drink. Type in #celeryjuice into any social media platform, and you’ll be dazzled by the range of inspirational results as people continue to improve their health and lose weight. From actresses to pro athletes to regular folks, millions are adopting a daily glass of celery juice as a way of life. And now, even top docs are becoming fans!

Steven Gundry, MD, author of The Plant Paradox ($17.46, Amazon) says celery juice lowers blood pressure, reduces bad cholesterol, and triggers easier weight loss. Cleveland Clinic’s Mark Hyman, MD, says it can beat bloat and eliminate inflammation that drives countless health issues. As for Dr. Oz? He talked up celery juice’s impressive antioxidant profile while also worrying about its availability. “People can’t find celery in stores anymore,” he said. “It’s flying off the shelves!”

The celery juice phenomenon began with Anthony William, best known as the Medical Medium. William is not a traditional nutrition expert; rather, he is guided by a voice he calls the “Spirit of Compassion” that leads him to uncannily accurate medical diagnoses and potential treatments. His string of mega-selling books — including his latest, Medical Medium Celery Juice: The Most Powerful Medicine of Our Time Healing Millions Worldwide ($9.60, Amazon) — are wildly popular for the simple reason that his natural advice gets astounding results. And that’s particularly true of celery juice, his signature remedy. “People who once were struggling are now well,” William tells Woman’s World. “They’re spreading the word, often telling stories of how celery juice literally saved their lives.”

The Science Behind the Magic

Whatever chronic health issue you struggle with, celery is likely to help. How? Researchers at the University of Salerno in Italy found that a powerful antioxidant in celery activates special anti-inflammatory enzymes. Other research shows celery compounds can block inflammatory molecules altogether. By easing inflammation, celery helps eliminate the root cause of obesity, arthritis, and dozens of other chronic diseases, experts say.

As if that weren’t enough, scientific reports also cite evidence that celery helps lower blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure, all while reducing the risk of cardiovascular and liver diseases. It’s even been shown to create a protective coating in the digestive tract. Bonus: Juicing makes celery’s wonder nutrients far easier for the body to absorb!

For his part, William believes celery and celery juice have far greater benefits yet to be discovered. “What scientists will soon find is that celery juice is an incredible source of previously unknown sodium cluster salts that actually neutralize pathogens secretly causing hundreds of symptoms and conditions,” he says.

“These salts also help revive the liver, which too often becomes clogged with toxins and fat. Your liver is your body’s filter, and as its function improves, so does every other part of your body.” Drink celery juice regularly and bacteria and viruses begin to die off as your liver is recharged, triggering improvements in metabolism, immunity, blood sugar and every organ and system. Says William, “Many people see an immediate difference, even when traditional treatments and diets have failed.”

Getting optimal results is easy!

To start reaping the anti-inflammatory and liver-rejuvenating rewards of the world’s hottest detox drink, Anthony William recommends sipping 16 ounces of fresh, pure celery juice every morning on an empty stomach. Not a fan of the taste at first? “Begin with four ounces and work your way up a little each day,” he suggests. Wait 15 to 30 minutes after your juice before eating breakfast. William notes, “Even with no other changes, it’s common to get noticeable results.”

Want to take it to the next level? William suggests a diet built around unprocessed plant foods. Turns out, most produce (especially leafy greens, cruciferous veggies, garlic, onions, fresh fruit, dried dates and all potato varieties) as well as maple syrup, raw honey, and gluten-free grains like brown rice and oatmeal provide high-quality natural sugar that binds to celery juice’s cluster salts, “helping drive them deep into your tissue and cells for maximum benefits,” he says.

William advises skipping fat-containing foods until noon and going lighter on options like nuts, avocado, and oil since excess fat can inhibit the absorption of cluster salts. It’s fine to include moderate amounts of unprocessed, high-quality fish, poultry, and meat if you wish. But William recommends avoiding foods that feed the pathogens that celery juice is working to neutralize — that means steering clear of dairy, eggs, and pork as well as gluten, corn, soy, vinegar, nutritional yeast, canola oil, and fermented foods. Taking these steps, says William, “will make celery juice even more effective at improving your health!”

Note: As always, get a doctor’s okay to try any new dietary strategy. Celery juice may not be advisable for those with kidney problems, on anti-clotting medication, or scheduled to undergo surgery.

Celery Juice Anti-Inflammatory Meal Plan

While eating to amp up the power of celery juice, simply make healthy choices using the guidelines above and listen to your body. Eat as much or as little as you need to feel content but not stuffed. In addition to celery juice, drink all the water you like; all varieties of caffeine-free herbal tea are also encouraged.

Daily Juice

Juice one bunch rinsed celery to yield about 16 oz. juice. No juicer? Blitz celery in a blender or food processor until smooth, then strain and drink.

Breakfast

Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie — Blitz 2 cups wild blueberries, 2 bananas, 1 cup cilantro, 1 tsp. barley grass juice powder, 1 tsp. spirulina, 1 Tbs. Atlantic dulse, juice of 1 orange, and water/ice to taste.

Lunch

Make a hearty salad with your favorite veggies plus quinoa and some nuts or seeds. An easy dressing: In blender, blitz 1⁄2 cup tahini, 2 Tbs. water, 1⁄4 cup lemon juice, 4 Tbs. herbs, salt and pepper.

Snack

Fresh fruit makes an ideal snack. Want something heartier? Try a baked sweet potato with a little salsa or some oven-roasted chickpeas with salt and seasoning to taste.

Dinner

Enjoy gluten-free pasta with a wholesome tomato sauce and toppings like veggies, olives, pine nuts, even a little shrimp; just be sure to steer clear of dairy, eggs, gluten, corn, soy and pork.
