This poor woman just cannot catch a break! Céline Dion announced to fans on March 21 that she has no choice but to cancel her upcoming shows. The superstar will be getting ear surgery to fix an uncomfortable condition in her inner ear. She has had a problem with her Patulous Eustachian tube for the last year to year-and-a-half, and while she was first able to manage it with eardrops, it's now affecting her hearing and making it very hard to sing.
“My luck hasn’t been very good lately," the 49-year-old songstress wrote on social media. "I’ve been so looking forward to doing my shows again and this happens. I just can’t believe it. I apologize to everyone who planned to travel to Las Vegas to see my show. I know how disappointing this is, and I’m so sorry."
Céline has canceled her shows from March 27 through April 18, and we don't blame her. Health should always be your first priority.
Don't worry, if you had tickets to any of these shows, you will be taken care of. "Orders purchased with a credit card for the canceled performances will be refunded to the credit card used for purchase," says the press release. "Those who purchased tickets with cash may present tickets at the original point of sale for a refund."
This isn't the first time Céline has struggled with her health this year. In January, she was dealing with a lingering cold that made it hard to sing. Perhaps that was related to her current issue. Regardless, we wish her well and hope she heals up, asap!
