When Texas Chick-fil-A cashier Marcus Henderson saw that a regular customer had accidentally left behind $3, he knew what he had to do: save it to return to the diner whenever he returned. And that's exactly what Henderson did — even though it was nearly a month before he saw him again.
Because Henderson knew Cadra was a regular, he knew that he would eventually see him once more — and he couldn't shake the feeling that he was supposed to be the one to give him the few dollars back. Henderson told local news station KLBK that he brought the money to work in an envelope every day until the customer, named Danny Cadra, finally came back.
"It was basically a part of my uniform. It was my name tag, my hat, my apron, and I just put it in my back pocket, just in case today might be the day where I see him," Henderson said.
Cadra did indeed return — but not before a few weeks had passed. When he did come back, he was blown away that he actually got the money back.
"It was like $3 and some change, and I never would have missed it," said Cadra. "What a breath of fresh air. It meant that much to him, so it meant even that much more to me."
Ever since that moment, the hardworking restaurant employee and his customer have become close friends. With a thoughtful gesture like that, we can't say we're surprised.
It just goes to show that a little act of kindness goes a long way!
