It started as a miracle childbirth tale — but now, another adorable chapter has been added to the story. Last year, Texas police officer Deputy Constable Mark Diebold was on his way to work when he noticed a speeding car, and signaled to the driver to slow down. That driver, Caleb Hall, rolled down the window and hurriedly confessed the reason for his erratic driving: His wife's water had just broken and they were racing to get to the hospital in time.
They'd never make it there; instead, Diebold helped the couple pull into a gas station and delivered their baby girl, Evelyn, clearing her airway and making sure she had a healthy and safe roadside delivery. Hall and his wife, Destiny, were understandably grateful — and they've kept Diebold in their life ever since.
The best part? He was even invited to her special first birthday tea party, and the pictures from the delightful event are worth a thousand words.
Captured by Cyndi Williams Photography in Coppell, TX, the tea party photos with sweet little 1-year-old Evelyn have hearts everywhere melting.
In fact, the photos are so awww-worthy that they almost match the magic of Evelyn's first newborn photo shoot, where she was posed — again by Cyndi Williams — with Diebold's badge and uniform.
We covered this sweet story back when it happened — so we're feeling doubly thrilled to see little Evelyn, all grown up one year later.
Knowing there was a happy ending to a scary birth story —and that a special friendship between the hero officer and the little girl he delivered continues on — is wonderful. And thanks to a talented photographer, we all get to share in the too-cute details. Sigh... life is sweet, isn't it?
