Dairy Queen’s ‘Free Cone Day’ Is Almost Here

I scream, you scream, we all scream for free ice cream! Free Cone Day is upon us once again, and we have to say that this is the one time of year when we actually look forward to standing in a long line. Who could resist waiting for DQ’s famous vanilla soft serve — especially when it costs zero dollars?

When is Free Cone Day at DQ?

Free Cone Day takes place on March 20, marking the first official day of spring. Even though the weather hasn’t really felt like spring for much of the country lately, we’re not about to turn up our noses at an event that celebrates warmer temps — especially when our favorite cold treats are involved.

“We’re excited for our fourth annual Free Cone Day,” said Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation, in a statement. “This day has become a spring tradition and a sign that warmer weather is upon us.”

This year’s Free Cone Day will take place at participating locations of both Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill restaurants. Keep in mind that Dairy Queens in malls are not included in this event. Just like previous Free Cone Days, this holiday will help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, thanks to donations from customers. If you’re able to donate, it’s truly a sweet cause.

Keep in mind that there’s a one-freebie limit to every customer — no exceptions. As you can probably imagine, free ice cream tends to draw crowds, so don’t dilly-dally on getting in line; this is not a deal you want to miss!
