Dairy Queen’s Holiday Blizzards Are Now in Stores

Tags:

It’s official: Halloween has come and gone, stores everywhere are already throwing out the pumpkins to make way for tinsel and garland, and Dairy Queen has finally unleashed its holiday flavors.

This year, the chain is bringing back the ever-so-popular Candy Cane Chill Blizzard in addition to a frosty take on a traditional treat with the Oreo Hot Cocoa Blizzard — made with Oreo cookie pieces and cocoa fudge blended with Dairy Queen’s vanilla soft serve, topped with whipped topping.

“These Blizzard Treats are the perfect way for our fans to sweeten the holiday season with two quintessential flavors — cocoa and peppermint candy,” Maria Hokanson, the executive vice president of marketing said in a press release. “There’s no better way to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with family and friends than at DQ.”

In addition to these festive frosty treats, Dairy Queen is also adding a new Western BBQ Cheeseburger $5 Lunch to is menu, which will include a 100 percent pure beef patty slathered in BBQ sauce and melted American cheese, topped with applewood smoked bacon and crispy onion rings, served with a side of crispy french fries and a 21-ounce beverage and the choice of one of Dairy Queen’s signature sundaes.

For those who prefer chicken to beef, Dairy Queen will also be adding a Chicken Strip Basket to its menu in December, which will include 100 precent white meat chicken strips, Texas toast, crispy french fries, and country gravy dipping sauce.

“We added a new $5 Buck Lunch and a Chicken Strip Basket special because we are all looking for value, particularly around the holidays,” Hokanson said. “Our menu has you covered for that pre- or post-shopping lunch, dinner, snack time or late night.”
