Season 26 of Dancing with the Stars is already shaping up to be the most drama-filled yet! ABC has revealed that they will announce the full cast on Good Morning America on April 13, but reports are already coming out about which athletes will join the special season of the hit dance competition. Let's just say it's controversial already!
The first to join the cast is none other than Tonya Harding, according to a report from Us Weekly on April 4. Many critics were angry to see Tonya as a sympathetic character in the Oscar-nominated film I, Tonya, so we're sure there will be some pushback against Tonya if she does join the show. The anger goes back to when her competitor Nancy Kerrigan was attacked before the Olympics, and it was traced back to Tonya and her husband. The controversy certainly has our interests piqued.
Then there's figure skater (and big personality) Adam Rippon, who became our new favorite at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea for his quick wit and bubbly attitude. “If the opportunity came about I think it would be fun,” he told Us earlier in the year. We can already tell he'll provide stiff competition since he said, “all is fair in love in war." At the time he was hoping for a partner "who can keep up with my quick whips, whoever that woman may be.” We could definitely see him with someone like the spunky Cheryl Burke.
The third reported competitor would be 2018 snowboarding darling Jamie Anderson. With her killer moves and atheltic ability, we're sure she'll give everyone a run for their money!
