Adele has been keeping a relatively low profile over the last year, so we haven’t seen much of Grammy-winning singer. But yesterday, she shared a photo of herself for her birthday on Instagram, and fans are going wild over her drastic transformation.
For the photo, the 32-year-old stood in the middle of what appears to be a giant gilded floral halo donning a chic LBD and pin straight hair. She captioned the photo, “Thank you for the birthday love. I hope you’re all staying safe and sane during this crazy time. I’d like to thank all of our first responders and essential workers who are keeping us safe while risking their lives! You are truly our angels. 2020 okay bye thanks x.”
To say that Adele looks a little different would be a huge understatement. The star has clearly shed some major pounds, and this is one of the few opportunities we’ve had to see her transformation. Last year in October, she appeared at Drakes birthday party where photos were taken revealing that she’d clearly lost some weight. “I used to cry,” she captioned the photo which was posted on Instagram, “but now I sweat.” Sure, it could have just been a reference to her working out, but could it have also been her redemption post after divorcing ex-husband Simon Konecki? Who’s to say. All we know is, she looks absolutely fabulous.
As for how she’s lost the weight, we can’t say for sure. Reports have pointed to the idea that she may be on the sirtfood diet, but the star hasn’t explicitly said for sure. However, according to one report, she told a fan on the beach that she’d lost over 100 pounds.
So far, the dramatic weight loss pic from her birthday has sparked some fiery conversation. The comments on the photo were largely from women praising Adele and commending her transformation, but others are criticizing the amount of emphasis that the media has placed on the singer’s weight loss. Adele hasn’t commented over the internet frenzy that’s taking place over her body, however, we’d have to say that we agree with this tweet from TV and film critic Hanna Ines Flint.
Adele is beautiful today, and she was beautiful before she lost weight. We’re happy for Adele and commend all the work she’s done, and of course, we’re hoping for a new album in the very near future!
