The Top 10 Most Popular Celebrity Engagement Rings (And How Much They Cost!)

Tags:

When it comes to celebrity engagement rings, we all have our personal favorites. Who doesn’t love a classic, like Queen Elizabeth’s three-carat diamond designed by the late Prince Philip? Or you may prefer something more unique, like Carrie Underwood’s five-carat yellow diamond. No matter where you stand, the public does seem to have an obsession with certain rings. The most-googled ring of the bunch? Gwen Stefani’s engagement ring.

According to research from the creative resource Design Bundles, Gwen Stefani’s diamond receives an average of 348,000 Google searches in the U.S. per year. It’s clear why! In the center is a very large emerald-cut diamond, framed on either side by two square-cut diamonds. Jewelry experts estimate that the ring is worth $500,000.

But that’s not the only celebrity engagement ring catching the eyes of America. Check out the other most-searched rings below.

Though Meghan Markle got engaged back in 2017, her engagement ring still received 132,000 searches in the past 12 months. The Duchess of Sussex’s ring was designed by Prince Harry and later modified, perhaps to suit Markle’s tastes. It features a three-carat, cushion-cut diamond in the center, sandwiched between two diamonds from Princess Diana’s own collection. In 2020, the original gold band was replaced with a more delicate, diamond-studded band. Estimates put Markle’s stunner at about $135,000.

If you admire a twist between unique and elegant, Blake Lively’s engagement ring is sure to attract your attention. It features a solitaire-set oval diamond with a light pink hue, making it rare and desirable. The rose gold band is complete with tiny, sparkling diamonds. As the center stone is 12 carats, it comes as no surprise that the ring is worth an estimated $2 million. It also received over 86,000 searches on Google last year.

Lively had no hand in the design, as she told British Vogue. Lorraine Schwartz, who also designed Meghan Markle’s eternity ring and the re-set of Markle’s engagement ring, received all the credit.

Ariana Grande

The fourth-most Googled celebrity engagement ring belongs to Ariana Grande, who secretly wed fiancé Dalton Gomez this past spring. The jewelry pulled in over 51,000 searches last year, perhaps because of its modern design. Grande famously announced the engagement on Instagram in December of 2020, and got married in an intimate ceremony in May 2021.

The ring boasts two different stones on an elegant and slim gold band: a five-carat, oval cut diamond and a pearl. Some fans speculate that the pearl is from a tie pin that belonged to Grande’s late grandfather.

Demi Lovato

Though Demi Lovato’s engagement to soap opera actor Max Ehrich was short, many of us are still extremely curious about the engagement ring she wore for three months. The ring received over 38,000 Google searches in the last year as fans followed the saga, which ended with Lovato admitting to Vanity Fair that she didn’t fully know Max Ehrich and believed his feelings weren’t genuine.

Still, onlookers couldn’t help but gawk at the engagement ring, which included an emerald cut diamond hand set in platinum and two trapezoid-shaped diamonds on either side. Jewelers believe the ring was over 10 carats and cost between $2.5 and $5 million.

Scarlett Johansson

In terms of size and cost, Scarlett Johansson’s engagement ring easily competes with Demi Lovato’s. It features an enormous light-brown diamond, believed to be a Type IIa diamond, on a black band. Type IIa diamonds are ones that have no measurable nitrogen or boron impurities, and are considered the rarest of all diamond classes. Experts believe that Johansson’s ring cost about $450,000, which explains why it pulled in 37,000 searches last year.

Beyoncé

No one was truly surprised when Jay-Z proposed to Beyoncé with one of the biggest diamonds ever seen on a celebrity’s finger. Designed by none other than Lorraine Schwartz, the engagement ring includes an 18-carat, flawless emerald cut diamond anchored to a split-shank platinum band. The price estimate for this piece of jewelry comes in at a whopping $5 million. With 33,600 Google searches per year, it’s clear that fans still can’t get over it!

Lily Collins

In September of last year, actor Lily Collins shared a picture of her “favorite new accessory” on Instagram: her engagement ring. The news caused the ring to become the eighth-most searched in the U.S. at 31,000 searches.

At the center of Collins’ unique piece is a rose-cut, diamond that is likely between three and four carats. The diamond is also in a bezel setting, which gives it a see-through appearance similar to quartz stone. According to experts for Insider, the ring likely cost Collins’ husband, Charlie McDowell, between $75,000 and $100,000.

Grace Kelly

For decades, Grace Kelly’s engagement ring has elicited gasps for its stunning appearance. The legendary ring was designed by Cartier, the French luxury brand, and features a 10.48 emerald-cut diamond and two baguette-cut side stones on either side. Kelly’s husband, Prince Rainier, bought the ring for Kelly to wear in the movie High Society

Kelly’s ring had an estimated worth of $4 million. With growth in value, new estimates place it at about $38.8 million. It also pulled in about 30,000 searches in the past year.

Heather Rae Young

Though she is not as famous as Grace Kelly, actor Heather Rae Young also received 30,000 Google searches in a year for her engagement ring. The 34-year-old Selling Sunset star got engaged to Tarek El Moussa in 2020 and happily showed off her new jewelry on Instagram. The ring includes a colorless, eight-carat, emerald cut diamond on a classic gold band. Young also told People that the diamond has eight carats because eight is her lucky number.

Though experts haven’t weighed in on how much the ring may have cost, The Diamond Pro states that you may pay between $12,500 and $40,000 per carat on an eight-carat ring. If Young has anything to say about it, nothing beats an expensive classic!
