How to Score Free Taco Bell During the World Series — Even if You’re Not a Baseball Fan

Sports playoffs tend to be quite divisive events, but no matter whether you’re a Boston Red Sox or a Milwaukee Brewers devotee (or don’t even know what those are), you’d probably agree that the one thing that unites all people is free food. Enter Taco Bell’s annual “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” promotion to save the day — and our game-day cravings! Read on to learn exactly how to score free Taco Bell during the MLB playoffs.

How to Get Free Taco Bell During the World Series

The fast food chain’s promotion works like this: If a baseball player steals a base in any game during the World Series, everyone gets to celebrate with a free Doritos Locos taco on November 1 from 2 to 6 p.m. Though the World Series won’t start until October 23, our mouths are already watering in anticipation. Getting rewarded for just sitting back and watching other guys run around? Sounds like a win-win to us!

The player who steals the first base of the series is called the Taco Hero. Last year, center fielder Cameron Maybin of the Houston Astros took the title after stealing second base in the 11th inning of Game 2 of the 2017 World Series. After the Astros won in extra innings, Maybin also celebrated on Twitter.

Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor was Taco Hero in 2016, wasting no time before stealing a base in the bottom of the first inning of the first game. Only once during the World Series have both teams failed to steal a single base, so you can count on at least one free taco.

If you’ve never had a reason to care about baseball before, free food is certainly a good reason to start.
