Kate Middleton May Have a Scar on Her Face, But It Doesn’t Take Away From Her Beauty
When we realized Prince William has a noticeable scar on his face, we were stunned — so imagine our surprise when we learned Kate Middleton has a scar, too. How have we never noticed it? Well, probably because the Duchess of Cambridge does a good job of keeping it hidden.
St. James’ Palace confirmed back in 2011 that Kate Middleton does indeed have a scar, after multiple news outlets mistakenly reported that the puckering along her hairline was caused by wearing hair extensions. “The scar is a result of a childhood operation,” a spokesperson told E! News. The palace declined to explain the reason for the operation, as it was a private matter. This decision sparked speculation about whether the duchess had undergone a serious surgery as a child or if it was something simple, like the removal of a birthmark.
At the time, Daily Mail spoke to a consultant surgeon at Lister Hospital named John Scurr about the possible reason for Kate Middleton’s scar. “I really doubt it was any serious medical condition, and I would say it is as a result of an arteriovenous malformation — a birthmark — being removed. It is remarkable, given the measurement, that no one has noticed before.”

Kate Middleton usually wears her hair down, which hides the scar. It’s only visible when she pulls back her tresses, like she did in 2011 to attend the “In Kind Direct” Charity Event at Clarence House. And in all honesty, her hard-to-notice scar doesn’t take away from her natural beauty.
Prince William, on the other hand, has been open about his scar, which is on his forehead. “I got hit by a golf club when I was playing golf with a friend of mine. Yeah, we were on a putting green and the next thing you know there was a seven-iron and it came out of nowhere and it hit me in the head. So, yeah, I was in hospital for that,” the prince revealed.
