Country Star Loretta Lynn Postpones Shows After Hospitalization

Our thoughts and prayers are with country singer Loretta Lynn and her family. The 85-year-old suffered a stroke at her home and was admitted to a hospital in Nashville, according to her official website.

Doctors expect Lynn to make a full recovery but advised she not travel, therefore the star’s upcoming shows have been postponed.

To celebrate her most recent birthday this April, Lynn played two sold-out shows at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, so this health news must come as a big surprise to her fans. She released a studio album in 2016 and 2017, so it seems like the singer has been quite a busy bee until now.

Already celebrities have come out in support of the beloved country icon. Fellow country artist Martina McBride tweeted “All my love and prayers are with @LorettaLynn tonight.”

Last year, Lynn made headlines after she fell. Her injuries required minor surgery, so Lynn was forced to cancel her annual Labor Day Concert. Her sister, Crystal Gayle, performed at the event with a message from Loretta: “I injured my chest and can’t get a deep enough breath to sing, but I’ll update you Monday [Sept. 5] after I see the doctor.”

In June of 2016, Lynn also canceled some of her shows after her grandson Jeffrey Allen died at only 47 years old.

At 85-years-old, Loretta Lynn is such a trooper. We sincerely hope she makes a full recovery, and we send lots of get-well wishes her way. We’re rooting for you, Loretta!
