Prince Harry’s Advice for Randomly Running into the Queen? ‘Don’t Panic’

Tags:

Imagine you’re walking down a hallway and suddenly, blammo, you’re standing inches away from Queen Elizabeth. Obviously, that scenario would be pretty difficult for most of us to achieve in our lives, but that’s not the case for those roaming the halls of Buckingham Palace on a daily basis. Despite her diminutive stature, the monarch is an understandably intimidating figure to find yourself face-to-face with at a moment’s notice — even for her own family members.

In an upcoming documentary titled Queen of the World, filmmakers are focusing on Elizabeth’s roles beyond the borders of the United Kingdom and how she is beginning to pass those duties down to younger generations. It will air across the pond next month before making its way stateside October 1 on HBO. Only a brief trailer has been released so far, but it revealed some surprising information about one of the queen’s grandsons.

Prince Harry appears with a group of young students taking part in the Royal Household Caribbean Hospitality Scholarship. According to the official website for the royal family, the program was founded by Harry in 2016. They quote him explaining, “We hope that the Royal Household will be able to share some of the skills and knowledge we have in this area with those working in the industry across the Caribbean.”

Apparently, one of the most important lessons to learn is how to react when casually spotting Elizabeth as she goes about her day. Harry tries to ease the group’s fears by telling them, “If you suddenly bump into her in the corridor, don’t panic,” but then immediately backpedals with his own admission, “I know you will. We all do.” You have to admit, knowing her own family members can be just as overwhelmed by her presence would be comforting if you were in their shoes.

Sure, Harry might probably be stretching the truth about himself a little bit, but it still shows what a sweet guy he is while trying to settle down the students’ nerves. Here’s hoping there are more fun moments like this when the full documentary airs! Check out the trailer for yourself over on the ITV YouTube page.
