If coffee didn’t perk you up this morning, maybe try looking at this piece of heaven for a little while: a never-before-seen picture of Princess Eugenie in her second wedding dress.
We first saw this gown at the reception of her wedding to Jack Brooksbank back in October 2018. At the time, fashion enthusiasts reveled in the stunning blush gown, which was revealed in an official picture released by the Duke of York, seen below.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are pictured at Royal Lodge, Windsor ahead of the private dinner, following their Wedding. Princess Eugenie's evening dress was designed by Zac Posen, who was inspired by the beauty of Windsor and the surrounding countryside. The White Rose of York is subtly embroidered on both the shoulder and back which hold together the cape. Princess Eugenie is wearing diamond and emerald drop earrings which were a Wedding gift from the Groom. Princess Eugenie also wears a hair slide belonging to Her Majesty The Queen. But now, the beautiful dress has been seen like never before after its talented designer, Zac Posen, shared a tribute to Eugenie for her 29th birthday. In the breathtaking picture, Eugenie is seen wearing the design while Posen kneels behind her holding its sheer train.
Posen also penned a sweet message to the red-headed royal, writing, “Every now and then you meet somebody who just knocks your socks off. This last year I got to know a young lady who possessed natural elegance, a heart of gold, and sophisticated humor.”

Every now and then you meet somebody who just knocks your socks off. This last year I got to know a young lady who possessed natural elegance, a heart of gold and sophisticated humor. My studio and I had the honor (and the best time) collaborating with her on her special gown. Best of all she is dedicated to using her privilege to help our world and its people with her project @the_anti_slavery_collective. Happy Birthday! @princesseugenie ✨
He continued, “My studio and I had the honor (and the best time) collaborating with her on her special gown. Best of all she is dedicated to using her privilege to help our world and its people with her project @the_anti_slavery_collective. Happy Birthday! @princesseugenie.”
Fans have flooded Zac’s Instagram post with comments expressing their admiration. The word “stunning” seems to be a common theme from fashion and royal enthusiasts alike, and we can’t blame them.
“That dress was is/so beautiful and the picture is simply stunning,” wrote one fan. “This dress! My heart!!!!” wrote another.
The post itself also garnered more than 34,000 likes within hours of it being posted. The revered reception gown is currently on display alongside Eugenie’s stunning off-the-shoulder Peter Piloto wedding dress at an exhibition at Windsor Castle.
For the exhibition, Eugenie recorded an audio guide where she revealed some extra details about the dresses. Much to fans delight, she said the Zac Posen frock was actually inspired by Grace Kelly’s 1955 movie, To Catch a Thief.
Town and Country shared some of the princess’ anecdotes: “I wanted something reminiscent of Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief, so I showed that for reference and Zac came up with this silk that he’d found from Manchester,” she explained. “Every single draping effect, every single detail, every button, it’s all painstakingly done by him and his team.”
Posen wasn’t the only one who shared a heartfelt tribute to Princess Eugenie for her big day. Her famous royal parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson also shared messages of love for their daughter.
Much like Princess Eugenie’s throwback-filled Instagram page, Fergie posted a sweet photo of Eugenie as a young girl along with the caption, “Happy Birthday my darling girl xxx”
Meanwhile, a collage of pictures featuring the Yorks was shared on Prince Andrew’s official Twitter account along with the caption, “Wishing Princess Eugenie a very Happy Birthday!”
And Eugenie herself posted the now-iconic picture of her and Jack at their wedding reception on her own Instagram account, writing, “My 28th year was the best one yet. Now to being 29. Thank you for all the birthday wishes.” It’s clear the she was feeling the love for her 29th celebrations. Happy Birthday Eugenie!
