The Royal Family Just Unveiled Their Christmas Tree and It’s Magical
When you rule the seven kingdoms, you have every right to be all kinds of extravagant during the most wonderful time of year, and the British royal family is filling in their yearly quota. They just unveiled their 2017 Christmas decorations.
It’s the season to be merry, and Duchess Camilla couldn’t be more jolly as she opened the doors to Clarence House and showed off her stunning Christmas tree. Prince Charles’ wife hosted children from the Helen & Douglas hospice and the Roald Dahl charity.
As she welcomed the little ones into her sprawling residence, they got the chance to see the marvelous tree before indulging in a delicious lunch. The Duchess’ Facebook page shared a series of snaps and showed the royal chatting to the kids and watch on as the tree got knighted.
“Every year, The Duchess of Cornwall invites children to help decorate the Christmas tree at Clarence House,” they penned alongside the photos. “Today, the event was attended by families supported by Helen & Douglas House (of which Her Royal Highness is Patron), and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.”
Before adding, “The children then joined The Duchess for lunch, featuring Christmas tree biscuits and mince pies (of course!)”
Joining in on the Christmas fun times, Buckingham Palace have also received their trees.
The Palace’s Facebook page enlightened us with the fun history behind the festive decorations, explaining, “Did you know that the displaying the Christmas trees was introduced to Britain in the late eighteenth century by Queen Charlotte, consort of George III?”

Adding, “Although the first Christmas Tree was later popularised by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in the nineteenth century.”
The palace was dropping hints about the stunning decorations. Taking to Twitter at the beginning of the month, they penned, “Happy 1st of December! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Buckingham Palace — see the final look next week. “

And the final look was even more fabulous than we could have imagined. The palace features multiple trees, including a 15-foot from Great Windsor Park in the Palace’s Marble Hall along with two in the Grand Entrance.
Although all the decorations were simply stunning, our favorite has to be the tiny little crowns!
