Who knew she'd already be a wedding photographer at age 9? Clearly, her dad must have had a hint early on.
Most little kids spend their time playing with toys and taking naps, but Regina Wyllie was an exception. From the extremely young age of three, she was already insisting that her father, Kevin Wyllie, a professional photographer, teach her how to work a camera. Her dad told Huffington Post, “Since then, she started taking cameras from my bags and asking me to show her how to work them. It just grew from there and I always made sure never to push her for it, preferring to let her ask the questions.”
Such an early and nurturing start has clearly worked in her favor, because now she's already a professional!
On April 15th, 2016, Regina had her first gig as a wedding photographer, accompanied by her dad. Both of them took stunning photos, but it was the ones that Regina took that truly stood out. The shots she captured of the happy couple and their children brought tears to the newlyweds' eyes. And we can't blame them! The images are stunning, and perfectly capture the love and joy felt throughout their celebration.
One of the best weekends of my life - @photosbytheg the 1st time she insisted that she wanted to come shooting with Dad. Camping & shooting a mountain bike race all weekend - quality of life 😊. The memory of sitting with my big girl outside the tent as we watched the sunset behind the hills is one of the greatest moments of my life. Nearly 7yrs since then and now she's even shooting weddings with me! So proud 😊
This is just the beginning for Regina, as her services have already been requested by several other couples. And even though she's only nine, this experience has already gotten her rethinking her future. She told Huffington Post, “I have always thought [photography] would be a hobby--I wanted to be a fashion designer--but I’m now starting to think that I may become a professional, like my dad." How sweet that she hopes to follow in her father's footsteps!
Whatever she chooses to do, we're sure that she has a long and successful career ahead of her, and can't wait to see more of her beautiful photos soon!
