We've all heard the saying, "Don't cry over spilled milk." But on New Year's Eve, one mom did exactly that.
Mom of two Kristin Sherman was feeling exhausted in the Meijer's parking lot after a challenging day. Not only did she need to pick up necessities at the grocery store and snacks for her low-key New Year's party, she also had two young sons on her hands who would not give her a break.
So when she spilled the gallon of milk in the lot just minutes after buying it, Sherman burst into tears. To make matters even worse, she soon realized she was being watched in the lot.
But it turned out to be a major blessing in disguise.
As Sherman wrote in a viral post in Love What Matters: "Anyways, little did I know a car parked across the aisle from us was watching me. I placed the cart into the cart return next to that car. A woman got out and said, 'I’m so sorry you spilled your milk. I’m a grandma I know how that is. Please let me go in and get you another one.' I said no that’s ok. I couldn’t possibly make this 'grandma' do that for me. She insisted. I finally agreed because I knew the boys needed their milk tonight. She told me to wait and she would be right back."
And she did come right back--with two gallons of milk plus a Meijer's gift card for good measure.
Sherman, touched by this random act of kindness, said it made her "cry like a baby."
She wrote, "Thank you to the parking lot grandma. In 2017, I hope we can all be a little more like her. I’m hoping the lady that helped me out last night will see this. Please feel free to share. Less hate, more love is my hope for 2017."
We couldn't think of a better way to kick off the New Year!
