Best news ever!
“This is a woman who has so many talents,” Hill said of Pickler. “Kellie is smart, compassionate, funny, quick-witted and has a heart for service. … She possesses the ability to reach far beyond the camera and into the hearts of people, allowing you to feel immediately connected to her.”
Hill will serve as co-executive producer alongside Lisa Erspamer, who worked as executive producer of The Oprah Winfrey Show. Pickler and journalist Ben Aaron will host the show from a modern farmhouse in Nashville. Together, the two will cover a wide range of topics including cooking, gardening, home design, and fashion with a southern flair. This already sounds amazing!
“We will bring a little bit of Southern charm and inspiration to our viewers, alongside insights from top tastemakers and experts in many areas,” Hill said in a statement. “Kellie is very much Southern while Ben is everything New York—complete opposites but together their chemistry is magic and our viewers are going to love them.”
Even though Nashville is known for its rich music tradition, the show wants to focus on more than just that. The producers plan to dig deep and present a whole new look at Tennessee's capital.
"We've talked about Dolly Parton, we've talked about other country artists, but the show is not going to be about country music. Nashville is way more than country music or country — it's a very aspirational city that's very hip and cool," Erspamer told The Hollywood Reporter.
Hill, Erspamer, and Jason Owen, the president and CEO of Sandbox Entertainment, pitched the show to several daytime syndicates before partnering with Scripps Network, the same company that owns brands like HGTV and Food Network. The show still doesn't have a name, but it's ready for it's autumn launch.
We can't wait!
