Saying farewell to someone you love is never easy, but it gets worse when you're the one forced to make the decision.
When Steven Pellettiere-Swapp found his mother, Lyndee, unconscious, he immediately called 911. The 45-year-old woman fell into a coma for 12 days and showed no signs of recovering. She was left unable to move or respond to anyone. Doctors said they had done all they could and recommended that her family pull the plug.
Although they didn't want to lose Lyndee, they wanted to honor her wishes to preserve her organs for donation. Heartbroken, her children and husband sat and talked with the comatose patient as they said their tearful goodbyes. Despite the fact that he was about to watch his wife die, her husband still maintained hope that she would wake up.
"I need you to fight,” he whispered to her. “I need you to fight.”
Those urging words must have sparked something within his spouse because just after they had taken her off life support, there she was suddenly awake. It goes to show that sometimes the touching words from our loved ones can make miracles happen.
Watch the video below to find out how Lyndee knew her husband had been the one to revive her.
