Missing Your Favorite Restaurant Food? 7 Chains Share Their Most Popular Recipes

Satisfy your cravings for Olive Garden, Chipotle, McDonald's, and more.

Whether you’re still in quarantine or just not ready to face the crowds at your favorite drive-thrus and restaurants, you’re in luck — you can make the favorite dishes that you would be eating out at home!

Just like Disneyland, several food chains have very kindly shared how to recreate their recipes in your kitchen. That’s right, you don’t even have to spend time experimenting and fine tuning like the guy who figured out how to make a perfect copy of KFC’s finger-lickin’ fried chicken. Plus, most of these are so easy, you’ll probably want to keep making them for yourself even when things have gone back to normal.

Take a look to see which restaurant copycat recipe you’ll want to tackle first!

McDonald’s McMuffin and Hash Browns

Miss grabbing a quick breakfast bite from the Golden Arches? Their official UK Twitter account shared the simple recipe you can use to create a copycat version of their sausage McMuffin and side of hashbrowns. Even if you don’t have a metal-ring to get the perfect circular fried egg, we’re sure this will satisfy your morning cravings!

Chipotle’s Guacamole

The chain restaurant’s executive chef, Chad Brauze, won’t even charge you $2 to add this to your meal! He shared the recipe on their official Instagram page and along with the obvious mashed avocados, the secret to this dip seems to be soaking the chopped onions, cilantro, and jalapeno in lime juice for a few seconds before mixing them in.

Cinnabon’s Cinnamon Rolls

Although the mall staple didn’t share their own recipe, we trust Food Network star Sandra Lee when she says her recipe is a close match. Lee keeps things “semi-homemade” with her re-creation by using canned Pillsbury biscuit dough. Instead of breaking them into the pre-cut pieces, she smushes the whole thing together before rolling it back out and covering in butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar.

Cheesecake Factory’s Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

If you want a slightly different spin on the classic cinnamon roll, these flapjacks from the Cheesecake Factory should hit the spot. The pancakes themselves are a pretty traditional buttermilk recipe, but a simple mixture of cinnamon, brown sugar, butter, and cream creates the oh-so delicious swirl.

Olive Garden Alfredo Sauce

Making more pasta than ever lately? We don’t blame you, it’s one of the easiest and most crowd-pleasing dishes. But now you can breathe new life into your noodle meals with Olive Garden’s trademark Alfredo sauce. It might not come with unlimited salad and breadsticks, but the buttery, garlicky, creamy, and cheesy pasta topper will still put a smile on everyone’s faces.

IKEA Meatballs and Cream Sauce

In true IKEA fashion, the UK branch shared their meatball recipe with the same type of visual instructions they include in each flat-packed piece of furniture. But hopefully the mixture of beef and pork, garlic, breadcrumbs, and milk won’t leave you as frustrated as putting together a new dresser.

DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookies

The hotel chain made history by sharing their beloved chocolate chip cookies recipe with the rest of us. It makes a batch of 26 cookies, so it will definitely keep everyone’s sweet tooth satisfied. Most of the ingredients like butter, sugar, vanilla flour, oats, and of course, chocolate chips aren’t too surprising, but did you know they also add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice?

Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme

The Mexican fast food chain hasn’t exactly revealed any of their own recipes, but have shared a few that are “almost as good” as the ones you can grab from the drive-thru. If you’ve been missing the balance of crunchy tostada, soft tortillas, savory meat, and gooey cheese, try Cooking with Janica’s Taco Bell-approved copycat recipe.
