It’s always difficult to say goodbye to a member of the family, but General Hospital star James Patrick Stuart (Valentin) shared a beautiful farewell message with a photo of his family’s beloved cat on Instagram. “Delilah was a rescue,” he wrote. “She’s been our good friend for 12 years and helped us raise our boys. She’s very sick and won’t be with us much longer, but I wouldn’t have changed a minute. #love”
Stuart and his wife, Jocelyn, are both animal lovers, especially rescue animals like Delilah and their two puppies. “Wanted a retriever,” Stuart confided on Twitter, “but my wife wanted a Bijon. We compromised and got a Bijon. His name’s Flint and he’s a rescue.”
The GH star also shared a video of a cockatiel named Mochi sitting on his knee in the living room as he tried to teach it to sing “Happy Birthday” to him (although it didn’t quite turn out as he’d hoped). He also posted another pic of a different bird just hanging out on his shoulder while he was trying to read his script!
My son's bird paying me a visit. I like reading scripts in my father's chair... He likes crapping on $300 jackets. pic.twitter.com/WbQ8bwhv5Y— James Patrick Stuart (@japastu) December 7, 2016
Pets are truly members of the family, and our thoughts go out to Stuart and his entire family during this difficult time.
