Georgia Engel passed away on April 12 in Princeton, New Jersey. The late actress, who was best known for her Emmy-nominated roles as Georgette Franklin on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Pat MacDougall on Everybody Loves Raymond, was 70.
Her extensive career also included roles in shows such as Mork & Mindy, The Betty White Show, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and Hot In Cleveland. The actress most recently appeared in the Netflix series One Day At A Time.
Engel's frequent co-star and close friend Betty White shared a touching tribute on Instagram. The actress posted a photo of herself and Engel, snuggling with a large brown bear. "'Friends Forever' says it all," Betty captioned the sweet picture.
Betty isn't the only star to pay tribute to the late actress. Hollywood heavyweight Lin Manuel Miranda wrote that the world is "grateful for what she gave us." And Engel's Everybody Loves Raymond co-star Patricia Heaton called her an "angel."

together at the Red Eye Grill to talk comedy. Georgia was such a contradiction; very private, deeply religious, humble and introspective and yet she loved nothing more than to step onto a stage and slay an audience.— Bob Martin (@drstorper) April 16, 2019
