Hallmark Is Now Accepting Submissions for Romance and Mystery Stories

Tags:

If it’s always been your dream to write for Hallmark, that dream just might become a reality. Hallmark Publishing is now accepting submissions for romance and mystery novels.

That’s right, you could be a published author for one of the most famously feel-good companies out there. Wouldn’t that feel great? But before you quickly saunter over to the website to hit submit, be mindful that there are some ground rules with these Hallmark Publishing submissions.

Hallmark Publishing Rules

1) Your novel needs to be between 65,000 and 85,000 words in length.

2) Your novel cannot include nudity, sex, profanity, or graphic depictions of sexuality or violence. Physical interactions must be limited to kissing and hugging. And in murder mysteries, the murder must happen “off the page” and steer clear of any disturbing content.

3) Your novel must have a happy ending.

Those are the main guidelines for submitting your romance or mystery novel, but there’s a few other tips Hallmark Publishing helpfully included to guide you along. For instance, they aren’t interested in paranormal romance as a whole, but they’re open to time travel or magic. They’re also not looking for redemption arcs, but a few religious elements are OK. They prefer to see third-person narratives, but will consider a first-person narrative if the voice is entertaining enough.

Now, do you think you have what it takes to make your dream novel into a reality? Then waste no time in heading over to the Hallmark Publishing website, where you can electronically submit your labor of love.
