Given Just Hours to Live as a Baby, Now the Only Thing That Makes This Little Deaf Girl Smile Is Changing Her Life

When Jessica Fay, from Burnley in the Lancashire county of England, was diagnosed with meningitis at 15 weeks old, there was little chance that she would pull through. Predicted to only have a few hours to live she managed to get better, but the harmful disease left her severely deaf and struggling to communicate. At two years old, there was nothing that could make this little girl smile, except for when she got her picture taken.

Seeing the joy that this brought her daughter, her mother, Laura Belle, took her to a child modeling agency that could help develop Jessica’s social skills. Once she got the taste of her first photo shoot, it was all uphill from there. Now six years later, this miniature model has her own Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube channel for her thousands of fans to keep up with her every move.

“For the first time in her life her personality was starting to shine and now she’s featured in 150 photo shoots and TV adverts,” said Belle.

Since she’s grown more and underwent surgery, the eight year old’s deafness has improved and she’s considered a professional in the child modeling industry. Young Jessica hopes to further her career into acting and ten percent of her wages goes towards helping local charities.
