Overjoyed Mom Has Rainbow Quadruplets After Battling Infertility for 10 Years

When Allyson Ponto underwent IVF treatment, she was told there was only a 30 percent chance it would be successful. And after battling 10 years of infertility and enduring four miscarriages, the Minnesota-based dental assistant prepared herself for the IVF to not work. She never could’ve imagined how well it would work and that she would be expecting not one, but four rainbow babies.

But that’s exactly what happened. The 39-year-old and her husband Tony found out at their six-week ultrasound that they were going to have quadruplets.

“I was totally prepared for a let down. Or for something to be wrong,” Allyson said in an exclusive interview with “When I saw those four heartbeats. I just started crying. All I ever wanted was the chance to be a parent.”

Allyson had tried a series of fertility treatments over the past years, but nothing seemed to be working.

“We would start the month with high hopes and then my monthly friend would come. It took a huge toll on our marriage,” Allyson said. “I ugly cried before every single baby shower I went to. I wondered ‘why not us? Are we not worthy of children?’”

But after just one round of IVF, it became clear that they were. And when their four little bundles of joy were delivered 32 weeks into the pregnancy, it became even clearer.

“I cried as soon as I heard each one of them cry. Tony would tell me who was coming out and I would listen and listen,” Allyson said. “Four different times and it was the best sound I have ever heard in my entire life.”

Now, Allyson is hoping the girls will be discharged by August 31, which was their expected due date.

“They are thriving so it could be earlier,” Allyson said. “It’s unbelievable.”

Unbelievably beautiful—just like their new rainbow babies!
