Heidi Klum may be one of the world’s top supermodels with her pick of any skincare product on the market, but when it comes to keeping her flawless skin moisturized, it’s not an expensive cream she’s reaching for. Instead, the 46-year-old runway strutter picks up an affordable favorite that rings in at less than $20: Mario Badescu’s Buttermilk Moisturizer ($18, Amazon).

“I use it on my face. It’s very light,” Klum told TODAY of her go-to hydrator earlier this year. “When I use very rich creams, I break out in pimples. I’ve been using it for years. It doesn’t clog my pores.”

Beyond its moisturizing properties, this pick works overtime to reduce the look of fine lines and discoloration thanks to its star ingredient, lactic acid. It’s also got allantoin, a derivative of glycolic acid, to soothe and smooth, plus chamomile to quell any would-be irritation, making it a great pick for even sensitive skin types.

Reviewers say it helps with everything from rosacea to acne, and has a “light and fresh” scent that several customers described as “pleasant.”

“It smells great, and is moisturizing without being greasy or oily,” wrote one happy purchaser.

Another echoed Klum’s sentiments about keeping her pores clear: “I have tried so many moisturizers which make my skin feel nice and start to soothe the dry blemishes that I have, but then my pores get clogged and I get pimples. It’s a never ending cycle. … I’ve been applying this two to three times a day and my skin is looking so much better a week after use.”

For maximum results, it’s recommended to apply all over your face after cleansing and toning, though the eye area should be avoided.

As for the rest of Klum’s skin, the former America’s Got Talent judge told TODAY that it all comes down to some good old fashioned exfoliation. “I use a loofah thing ($12.99, Amazon), one of those things that are very scratchy with handles on each side,” she said. “I do my body and my butt and scrub myself down. Sometimes I wear body makeup, and it’s so thick. I need to loofah that off.”

We don’t know about you, but we’re feeling smoother already!
