In 2017, money just doesn’t seem to go as far as it used to — unless you’re spending it during a JetBlue flash sale. In a day and age when $44 barely covers the cost of movie tickets for a family of four, it’s still nice to know that you can fly from Florida to Chicago for less than the price of a fancy steak dinner for two. Now is the time to relax your penny-pinching (you have another 364 days for that) and treat yourself to a little getaway! Here’s what you need to know about JetBlue’s ticket deals.
All tickets purchased no later than October 18 — that’s today! — are subject to these discounts. If you want to travel, you must do so between October 25 and December 14. However, blackout dates from November 16 to 28 might put a hitch in your Thanksgiving travel plans. According to TIME Money, most fares must be purchased at least seven days prior to departure — sorry guys, no last-minute vacations! — and discount prices may not extend to arrivals and departures on Friday or Sunday.
Another thing to know before booking is that these discounted tickets are for one-way fares. Return flight prices will vary depending on when and where you have to travel. Keeping that in mind, it’s important to do a little research before buying tickets. Sales can drive anyone a bit cuckoo, so you’re not alone if you’ve swiped your card a little too quickly because you got wrapped up in what you thought was a good deal. However, most major airlines will price match, so before you enter your information, do some digging on Delta, Southwest, United, or any of the other airlines. You might actually find something cheaper elsewhere.
Now that cold weather is finally here to stay, you might find these deals even more enticing. For example, JetBlue is offering $64 tickets from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Turks and Caicos. It may be October already, but we’re not quite ready to give up on the idea of sipping a piña colada on the beach. Who’s with us?
We’ll see you on a tropical island somewhere!
