Here’s How Much Your Old Phone Is Worth on eBay

Tags:

Selling your phone on eBay is a great option, whether you’re looking to earn money towards purchasing a new smartphone or just looking to clear out your junk drawer. As much as you’d like to offload your unused cellphones as fast as possible, you also want to make the most money possible when selling them — which is where the Instant eBay Voucher program comes in handy.

The way the program works is simple: First, make sure your phone is on the list of eligible models (the list is on their website and includes more than a dozen makes). Then, answer a few prompts about the model, carrier, and condition of your phone. If everything meets the program’s requirements, you’ll get an offer for an Instant eBay Voucher. Once you accept, send your phone to the specified location where it will be inspected. If it passes muster, the voucher will be credited to your account, and you can use it for all future eBay purchases.

For example, a used black 32-GB iPhone 7 on Verizon that’s in excellent condition and comes with the cable and charger is worth $228. It still pays (literally!) to do your research and compare that quote with other sites. However, if you want the phone off your hands ASAP, then the Instant eBay Voucher program isn’t a bad deal.

Obviously, the downside to this program is that you’ll be paid in the form of an amount credited to your eBay account, rather than your bank account. However, if you’re an avid eBay user (it’s a great place to buy and sell knickknacks from your childhood that are worth a lot of money today), a voucher and a credit in your bank account are all the same to you.

With Christmas coming up, why not treat yourself to a new phone? Your kids and grandkids surely be impressed.
