When we take a shower, we’re understandably preoccupied with cleaning ourselves. That said, how often do you notice a spot on the tile or around tub that you tell yourself to remember to scrub later — but then totally forget about as soon as you’ve dried off?
According to professional housekeeper and “queen of cleaning” Vanesa Amaro, that problem can easily be fixed with what she calls the “best cleaning hack of your life.” It’s a pretty bold claim, but she says all we need are a few staples that might already be in your kitchen.
Amaro recommends getting the OXO Soap Dispensing Dish Brush (Buy on Amazon, $12.99), or something similar. Then, fill up the handle with a one-to-one mixture of dish soap, like Dawn (Buy at Walmart, $3.74), and some white vinegar (Buy at Walmart, $1.74).
After that, we just have to find a place in the shower where we can keep the brush handy to scrub it down (or at least a spot clean) every now and then while we’re already in there rinsing ourselves off. Of course, we should also remember to be careful — the soap could make the floor of the tub extra slippery!
Amaro emphasizes, “If you’re going to follow any of my tips, please let it be this one.” You can hear for yourself in the video below:
It’s one of those simple hacks that we kick ourselves for not thinking of on our own — but when we do, it’s a total lifechanger!
Psst: When you’re done filling up the dish brush with your cleansing mixture, you can take a look at even more ways to use dish soap and surprising uses for white vinegar around the house. Trust us, these budget-friendly staples can go a long way to making your life a whole lot easier.
