The No-Vacuuming Way to Keep Your Car’s Drink Holders Spotless

Tags:

Some chores get checked off the list quickly and easily. Others get ignored until you just can’t put them off any longer. Vacuuming the living room? No sweat! Vacuuming out the car? Now that requires Herculean effort.

There’s nothing fun about trying to clean out several months worth of crumbs, crumpled receipts, and half-melted lip glosses–we’ll give you that. But there is a quick and easy trick you can use in your car to make cleaning the cup holders (you know, where all the stray objects and crumbs end up) lightning-fast.

(function(d, s, id) {  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;  js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;  js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3";  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

Next time you’ve given your poor car the thorough cleaning it deserves, pop a cupcake liner into each of the cup holders. Once it’s dirty, simply slip it out, throw it away, and pop in a new one. You can the time you save cleaning the console to finally tackle the glove compartment.

Don’t mind a little cleaning? Splurge on the silicone cupcake liners instead of paper. They’re sturdier and only require a quick rinse to be good as new.
