A homeless man named Gary is grabbing headlines all over England for a selfless act of kindness--and for the wonderful payback he's getting in return.
Gary was in a phone booth when he stumbled upon a bag filled with a very expensive suit and other pricey goods. Being homeless, he could've easily sold them for his own gain. But instead, he immediately contacted the store where the items were purchased.
And he returned everything to the store just as he found it. When the person who had lost the shopping bag, Lewis Roberts, found out what happened, he just couldn't keep quiet about the man's kind heart.
So he took to Facebook and posted about Gary's good deed, pleading with his friends and followers to help him in any way they possibly could.
And oh boy, did they!
Community members created a Go Fund Me page to help Gary get back on his feet--and they've already raised more than three times their original goal of £2,000.
According to Darren Galvin, a man behind the page, Gary is overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of response in his honor.
And it looks like he'll be well on his way to getting a fresh start soon! How wonderful.
