Parents in NYC Nanny Tragedy Are Ecstatic About Their Big News

Tags:

The world remembers with sadness the day in October 2012 when Marina and Kevin Krim of New York City had two of their three children’s lives cruelly cut short by their mentally unstable nanny. Since then, the Krims have inspired others by moving forward and filling their lives with peace, healing, and dedication to honoring their beloved son and daughter’s memory–and now, three years later, they now have more positive news to share.

The Krims happily announced the bright news on the Facebook page of the Lulu & Leo Fund, the foundation they established in memory of Lucia (Lulu) and Leo Krim to support youth programs in the arts and sciences. Their message read, in part:

“We also have some wonderful news: Marina is pregnant with a baby boy, due in late January. Nessie is excited about her new role as queen bee of the family and little Felix (who turns 2 this weekend) is thrilled to give up his crib to become roommates with Nessie in a new bunk bed!

Their note refers to their surviving daughter, Nessie, who was out with her mother at the time of the horrific tragedy, and their son, Felix, who was born a little less than a year later.

The Krims’ enormous strength and focus on healing was also evident in the powerful post:

“With each new baby, we feel a special and closer connection to Lulu and Leo, who are a constant presence in their siblings’ looks, gestures and voices.”

We’re so incredibly happy for this family, and we admire their tremendous strength. We wish the Krims nothing but continued resilience as they add to their family and celebrate their late children’s memory with love, beauty, and courage.
