A mom who was flying with kids found herself in nightmarish position when her baby started crying loudly. Then the flight attendant came over and insisted that she and her baby get up from their seats--so another flier whipped out her phone and began recording the entire exchange.
The Southwest employee then escorted her to the back of the aircraft, where he did something that left the mom in tears: The kindly man began blowing bubbles for the crying baby, comforting her until she quieted. When the gracious mom started crying, the man offered her tissues and consoled her too. How sweet!
Carrie Jaboor, the passenger who photographed the kind employee shared the story on Facebook, and so far it's been shared over 2,000 times. Hundreds of people left comments about their own pleasant experience with Southwest.
"I was a super sick girl coming home from a cruise. Got to the [Fort] Lauderdale airport a little too early before I could check in because all I wanted to do was just find a seat and try to let my medicine kick in. The agent fixed my flight by putting me on an earlier, direct flight at no extra cost to me...I only fly SW now and have no regrets," one woman wrote.
Another Southwest employee commented that she and her "Sky brothers and sisters" really do try to make customers' flights better.
This flight attendant's selfless behavior is totally commendable, but it's important to remember that kindness can also come from the other fliers.
"Sometimes when our small ones cry in public, we are helpless as to what more we need to do to comfort and ultimately make them peaceful again... Sometimes we want to throw our hands in the air and cry too. So, the next time you witness a toddler...having an epic meltdown, please don't roll your eyes and give the parent an attitude. A stressed parent makes for an even more stressed baby," another woman commented.
