How You Can Get Paid Big Bucks to Grocery Shop for Others

Tags:

Annette Beutjer from Birmingham, Alabama, is making big money doing supermarket runs for others. Take a look to see how you can follow in her footsteps:

“Three years ago, I started using Shipt, a delivery service that allows you to get groceries delivered from your local store, thanks to a network of Shipt shoppers who complete the errand for you. At first, I used the service as a member, but when my husband lost his job, I knew I needed a way to make money after many years of being solely a homemaker, so I decided to look into being a Shipt shopper.

“I met all of the requirements, which include having a valid driver’s license and insurance, a vehicle, a smartphone, and the ability to lift 40 pounds, so I applied online and was approved! As a shopper, I accept orders through the app, and I can accept or deny each request. I’m paid on a ‘per order’ basis via direct deposit each week. It ends up being about $22 an hour — and I get tips!

“When I accept an order, I head to the predetermined store and pay with a prepaid card funded by Shipt. Delivery depends on the individual member’s request: Some ask that you come inside; others will have you hand them the groceries at the door. Unpacking is not expected, but if I’m delivering to an elderly or disabled member, I always offer to unload and put items away for them.

“My favorite thing about shopping for Shipt is the flexibility of my schedule, followed closely by the people I meet. I averaged 35 hours per week in my first year as a Shipt shopper. Now I work 10 or so hours per week, depending on my schedule. That is truly the beauty of this job! You can work as much or as little as you want.”
