Meghan Markle's future daughter will be one lucky girl. While the new royal is known for flashing her stunning engagement ring featuring Princess Diana's diamonds, she also has another meaningful piece of jewelry in her collection — a Cartier French Tank Watch. "I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank Watch," she told Hello! magazine in 2015. "When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season — which, at the time, felt like such a milestone — I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version."
The best part? It has a sweet message engraved on it. "I had it engraved on the back, 'To M.M. From M.M.' and I plan to give it to my daughter one day," she said at the time. "That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them."
The royal family is known for passing down jewels. For example, Kate Middleton's sapphire engagement ring once belonged to Princess Diana. She's also borrowed Queen Elizabeth's pearl earrings as well as tiaras and broaches from prominent royal figures like The Queen Mother and Princess Anne. While we're sure we'll get to see Meghan in more borrowed royal jewels as time goes on, royal fans are most excited to meet Meghan and Harry's future kids, who will likely receive other jewelry besides Meghan's watch as well.
Luckily for us, the royal duo has been vocal in the past about wanting children. Back when the duo had their engagement interview with BBC, reporter Mishal Husain simply said "Children?" to Meghan and Harry (the question prompted a smile from both parties). Harry jokingly replied, "Not currently, no." He then became more serious. "No, of course, you know, I think one step at a time," he continued. "Hopefully, we’ll start a family in the near future." But a source recently confirmed to Closer Weekly that "Meghan and Harry are already trying for a baby. They'd love to have at least two." We can't wait to meet the little ones who will one day inherit all of Meghan's beautiful jewelry.
