This Mother’s Day, invite the moms in your life to spend time together enjoying a morning meal filled with flowers, fun, and conversation. These simple menu ideas mean you don’t have to spend hours cooking!

Say ‘I love you’ with a beautiful buffet.

Your nearest and dearest can enjoy a leisurely brunch at their own pace with a help-yourself buffet filled with delicious store-bought pastries. “Using bright, feminine hues adds a pop of color symbolic of flowers in bloom this time of year, and adding in plenty of white allows the vibrant colors to pop,” says event pro Valerie Gimre

Fancy up place settings with floral touches.

A colorful place setting perks up a plain tablecloth — but you don’t have to go to the store for new dishes and linens. Instead, let a handful of blooms and a bright napkin brighten up basic white plates. To create this thoughtful touch, simply roll a dinner nap- kin into a cone shape and wrap the bottom with a doily or lace fabric scrap. Secure with a pretty ribbon, then fill the opening with a trio of fresh flowers and snippets of baby’s breath (or your favorite floral filler). Rest one cone atop each plate.

Gift guests petite bouquets.

Inexpensive mugs from the dollar store make the perfect easy-to-hold vessel for a blooming favor they’ll enjoy long after the party. Gather a few blooms into a bouquet, tie with ribbon or raffia, and pop into a mug. Finish with a message of love written on a scrapbook paper square and taped to a skewer.

Set out a Mom-osa bar.

The drink of the day is bubbly and sweet — just like Mom! “Mimosa bars are an easy way to allow guests to enjoy a drink prepared exactly how they like it,” says Lindsey Rubino. Just set out a variety of fresh juices, sparkling wine, and fruit garnishes.
