The fall harvest yields a lot more than fresh ingredients for a perfect autumn meal (butternut squash soup, anyone?). You can also incorporate these nutritious fruits and veggies into your beauty routine! We’ve compiled six spa-inspired recipes and products that harness the season’s bounty of nutrient-packed ingredients so you can put your best face forward all season long.

Blackberry Cream

Smooth Wrinkles With a Blackberry Cream

These tart berries are a rich source of vitamin A, which boosts collagen production to firm skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, says Denver-based aesthetician and Skinsanity med spa owner Laura Kearney. Even better? Antioxidants in the fruit protect skin against free radicals that can cause it to crease and sag. Make your own cream by combining 1 Tbs. of exfoliating yogurt and 1 Tbs. of mashed blackberries to keep skin extra-taut (massage onto skin and leave for 10 minutes), or pick up this Jo Malone London Blackberry and Bay Body Crème ($84, Jo Malone London), which pair’s blackberry juice with jojoba seed, cocoa seed and sweet almond oils to nourish and protect the skin.

Tomato Treatment

Nix Bacne With a Tomato Spot Treatment

Astringent properties in tomatoes remove the oil, bacteria, and dirt that cause breakouts, while anti-inflammatory compounds found within reduce redness and irritation. Combining tomatoes with antibacterial apple cider vinegar speeds results, so we recommend pureeing a tomato in a blender and mixing it with 1⁄4 cup of apple cider vinegar for a quick spot treatment. Alternately, you can dab on Yes To Tomatoes detoxifying charcoal acne spot treatment ($9.99, ULTA), which joins forces with  salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and witch hazel, to draw out dirt and impurities from pores.

Pumpkin Mask

Thicken Hair With a Pumpkin Conditioner

Pumpkin’s hair-boosting vitamins increase circulation in the scalp to deliver blood, oxygen, and nutrients to follicles, subsequently stimulating new hair growth. What’s more, the gourd’s fortifying minerals strengthen hair at the root to prevent fallout. Suds up with philosophy’s Pumpkin Icing shampoo and shower gel combo ($28, QVC), then condition your locks from roots to ends with a mixture of 1 Tbs. of pumpkin puree and 1 Tbs. of olive oil, which hydrates hair for light-reflecting luster. Let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse — your strands will look instantly fuller!

Zucchini Lotion

Relieve Rashy Skin With Zucchini Lotion

This bright green squash’s powerful anti-inflammatory properties work to calm itchiness and irritation, while its vitamin E repairs inflamed skin. Boost rash-soothing benefits by mixing half of a zucchini with 1/4 cup of coconut oil (its fatty acids deeply hydrate) and applying to problem areas for 15 minutes at a time. As an added bonus, you can revel in the fresh scent of the fruit with this handmade zucchini bread shower gel ($14, Etsy), which smells like a fresh loaf pulled from the oven.

Apple Mask

Diminish Discoloration With an Apple Mask

“Apples are packed with skin-lightening malic acid and skin-brightening vitamin C, which deeply absorb into skin to reduce hyperpigmentation,” says Kearney. For a quick DIY mask, you can mix 1⁄2 Tbs. of apple juice, 1⁄2 Tbs. of lemon juice (to brighten), and 1 Tbs. of honey (a humectant) together to rub on dark spots for 15 minutes before rinsing. We also love Juice Beauty’s vegan and cruelty-free green apple peel sensitive exfoliating mask ($42, ULTA), which is packed with alpha hydroxy acids (chemical compounds that can help promote collagen and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles), plus vitamins A, C, and E, and aloe vera to make for one powerful dark spot corrector.

Fruit-Hued Lipstick

Liven Up Your Pucker With a Fruit-Inspired Lip

One of fall’s biggest makeup trends? Vibrant lip colors inspired by seasonal fruit. Fair complexions would do well to choose a raspberry-colored pigment, like the one found in this L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche shine lipstick in Glassy Garnet ($7, Target), to highlight their rosy undertones for a youthful-looking flush. Those with olive skin tone, meanwhile, will want to opt for a cherry hue — the rich red will cancel out any heavy green undertones for a healthy, dewy glow (We like NYX Cosmetics’ Butter Lipstick in Afternoon Heat, $7, NYX Cosmetics.) And as for dark skin tones? A mix of purple and red tones, like the plum color found in Burt’s Bees moisturizing liquid lipstick in Wine Waters ($2.49, ULTA), is just right for adding warmth without competing with deeper complexions.
