414-Pound Woman Has Lost 210 Pounds Without Surgery

Tags:

If you’re in need of weight loss inspiration, look no further than a woman named Noelle, better known by her Instagram handle @transforming_noelle. And oh boy, has she ever transformed. Noelle is making headlines lost half of her body weight in just a year. And here’s the kicker: She didn’t use surgery to do so.

Noelle realized she had to make a huge lifestyle change last summer. The devoted mom had taken her kids to the zoo, and they were forced to wait for her every 10 or 15 minutes as she tried to catch her breath — not to mention deal with her crippling back pain. Afterward, she stepped on a scale that just read “error,” with no number. Thinking the scale just needed new batteries, she realized later that her body was simply over the scale’s limit. In June 2016, she weighed in at 414 pounds.

“I have been obese most of my adult life,” she said. “I became morbidly obese about four years ago.”

But a month after that fateful zoo visit, she signed up for Optavia, a medically designed program for folks looking to make healthy choices. She quickly said hello to Optavia meals like oatmeal, ziti marinara, and a protein brownie, along with a “lean and green” meal each day that consisted of veggies and a lean protein.

And for the first six months, she started walking for exercise. Slowly but surely, she was able to add lifting weights as part of her workout routine. And her hard work and dedication paid off — a year later she was down 207 pounds. Her current weight is now 204, and she finally feels like she’s “living,” not just existing.

“I am loving life and so grateful that I chose to love myself,” she said. “I have gained so much over the last year and couldn’t be happier.”

Noelle’s big tip to others who want to follow in her footsteps is “progress, not perfection.”

“If I focused on needing to lose 200-plus pounds I would have been easily discouraged and overwhelmed,” she said. “I focused on getting to 399, and then set 20-pound goals for myself.”

This isn’t to say that there hasn’t been setbacks. She’s hit four weight plateaus already. But she still continues to move forward with the program in spite of that.

“Whether the scale is moving or not, I am improving my health every day by making the right choices and moving my body,” she said. “Remember to never give up what you want most for what you want today.”
