Princess Eugenie Announces Engagement to Boyfriend Jack Brooksbank

Tags:

Congratulations are in order for Princess Eugenie. One month after the engagement of her cousin Prince Harry, the royal beauty announced she will marry her boyfriend Jack Brooksbank.

“The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Eugenie to Mr. Jack Brooksbank,” a statement from the royal family read. “Her Royal Highness and Mr. Brooksbank became engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month. The wedding will take place in the Autumn of 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, with further details to be announced in due course.”

Eugenie, 27, is the eighth in line to the British throne and daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. She will also be tying the knot at the same chapel as Harry and Meghan Markle, whose wedding date is set for May 19.

“A total embrace of goodness and joy,” her mom Sarah tweeted. “We love Jack and I am so excited to have a son, a brother, and a best friend. Eugenie is one of the finest people I know and so together it will be pure harmony.”

She continued, “I always say that the river flows well to its destiny because of the guidance of a solid rock.” A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said the princess’ grandparents, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, were “very pleased and wish the couple all the best”.

Eugenie and Jack have been dating for several years after meeting while skiing at the Mayfair club Mahiki, where he was a manager at the time. His parents, Nicola and George Brooksbank, also sent their congratulations to the couple. “We could not be more delighted with the news of the engagement,” they said. We can’t wait to see Princess Eugenie on her big day!
